Sporting KC Announces LSP Founding Partner

Sporting Club and Sporting Kansas City announced today that Providence Medical Center will be a founding partner of LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. The local health care provider will have an active presence at the 18,467-seat stadium that is set to open on June 9th.

“Sporting Club is proud to associate LIVESTRONG Sporting Park with an outstanding hospital like Providence Medical Center,” said Andrew Steinberg, Executive Vice President of Revenue for Sporting Club.  “Our organizations share the vision of improving the health of our community through sport and other physical activities.  We are pleased to have developed a strong, lasting partnership with a Kansas City, Kan., organization."

Providence Medical Center has been a partner of Sporting Kansas City since the 2008 season.  In addition to being one of the founding partners of LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, Providence Medical Center will continue its sponsorship of the Sporting Kansas City Juniors program.  The Sporting Kansas City Juniors program has promoted two members of its teams, Jon Kempin in 2010 and Kevin Ellis in 2011, to the senior Sporting Kansas City squad.

To recognize the partnership further, a section at the South end of LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will be called the Providence Sporting Pass Zone.  A Sporting Pass is a special mini-ticket package for children aged 4-17, which is available for $59.99 by calling 888.4KC.GOAL or visiting Ticketmaster.com. Pass holders are guaranteed tickets to a minimum of three their choice in the Providence Sporting Pass Zone.  The Sporting Pass also includes complimentary entry into additional matches subject to availability.

“Our exclusive partnership with Sporting Kansas City is a unique way to distinguish ourselves from other hospitals in Kansas City,” said Mike Dorsey, President/CEO of Providence Medical Center and Saint John Hospital.

“Through our relationship we are pleased to provide high quality care to the players and fans of Sporting Kansas City.”
