Sporting KC Halftime Media Game to return on Wednesday, July 12 at Children's Mercy Park

Children's Mercy Park at night

Sporting Kansas City’s media corp is set to be put to the test once again as the annual Halftime Media Game makes its triumphant return when Sporting KC hosts Real Salt Lake at Children’s Mercy Park on Wednesday, July 12.

The joyous/exciting/occasionally comedic event is a thrill for fans and the press alike, with 35 members of the local media scene set to go head-to-head in the Blue Hell for ultimate intra-industry bragging rights.

The two teams will be split into one group of 17 and one of 18. Sporting Blue will be showcasing the resplendent Hoops 4.0 jerseys, while Sporting Indigo will don the classy State Line 3.0 outfits that debuted in 2022.

Sporting’s match against Real Salt Lake will see two sides clawing to get into the MLS Cup Playoffs face off at Children’s Mercy Park, nine-and-a-half years on from that frigid day on Dec. 7, 2013 when Sporting made KC’s dreams come true by beating RSL to lift MLS Cup.

The match will air on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, as well as on Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish). Tickets are available via SeatGeek.com.
