Sporting KC signs Alekzandur as eMLS player for 2020 season

Sporting Kansas City’s first eMLS player has sealed a return to his hometown club. Christian Alexander Garcia, internationally known by his gamer tag Alekzandur, has signed as Sporting’s official eMLS competitor for the 2020 season.

Alekzandur, who previously represented Sporting on the eMLS circuit in 2018, will be back in Sporting blue for national and global EA Sports FIFA 20 events throughout the 2020 campaign.

A native of Kansas City, Kansas, the 20-year-old Alekzandur advanced to the conference finals of the inaugural eMLS Cup in 2018. Later that year, he became the only American to reach the 2018 FIFA eWorld Cup, the premier event in the FIFA Global Series featuring the best gamers on the planet. After finishing ninth in the world in the final FIFA rankings for 2018, he signed with Italian club AS Roma for the 2019 season.

Currently No. 36 in the FIFA 20 Global Series rankings, Alekzandur is set to represent Sporting at three eMLS events in the coming months, headlined by eMLS Cup presented by PlayStation during the second weekend of SXSW in Austin, Texas.
