Sporting Kansas City defeated Vancouver Whitecaps FC in a penalty shootout following a scoreless draw on Sunday in the MLS is Back Tournament Round of 16 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney World. The result sets up a compelling quarterfinal showdown between Sporting and the Philadelphia Union, slated for 7 p.m. CT on Thursday with live broadcasts on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, the ESPN app, Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.


In the lead-up to Thursday's encounter, Sporting KC Live presented by Michelob Ultra will provide 60 minutes of pregame programming on FOX Sports Kansas City Plus and FOX Sports GO. Fans can also catch postgame coverage beginning at approximately 9 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Kansas City Plus, FOX Sports GO and Sports Radio 810 WHB.


A new episode of the Sporting Kansas City Show will debut Tuesday at 8 p.m. CT on Sports Radio 810 WHB, serving as a recap of Sunday's penalty shootout win over Vancouver and a preview of the MLS is Back Tournament Quarterfinals. Hosts Nate Bukaty, Carter Augustine and Aly Trost will also hear from a Sporting KC guest as the club continues its push for the tournament title in Florida.


Sporting Kansas City II (0-3-0, 0 points) will continue its 2020 USL Championship campaign with two road matches this week, visiting Louisville City FC (2-2-0 6 points) at 7 p.m. CT Wednesday at the new Lynn Family Stadium before facing Indy Eleven (4-1-0, 12 points) at 6 p.m. CT Saturday inside Lucas Oil Stadium. Both games will stream live on ESPN Plus with additional in-game updates on Twitter via @SportingKCII.


Lastly, Sporting Kansas City and Community Blood Center have teamed up for another blood drive today at Children's Mercy Park, running until 3 p.m. CT inside the Budweiser Brew House, located in the northeast corner of the stadium at the intersection of France Family Drive and Village West Parkway.
