Lia is an 8-year-old high-risk leukemia survivor from Omaha, Nebraska. She was diagnosed in October 2019 after what was first thought to be an ear infection. Lia loves playing soccer, swimming, going down slides, and caring for her baby dolls.
After a difficult start to treatment, Lia reached remission on New Year’s Eve 2019. With support from her family and doctors which included a special immunotherapy treatment from St. Jude, she completed 2.5 years of chemotherapy. Today, Lia is off treatment and thriving, a strong and joyful girl whose journey continues to inspire those around her. Her favorite foods include macaroni and cheese, and chocolate.
