Career Summary

2020: Barbir joined Sporting II ahead of the 2020 USL Championship season and went on to make 15 appearances for the club, including 13 starts. He scored two goals, tallying the game-winner in a 1-0 road win over Indy Eleven (Aug. 1) and scoring another in a 3-0 home victory over OKC Energy FC (Aug. 22). His debut for the club came on July 18 when he came off the bench at halftime in a 2-1 setback at Indy Eleven.

Outside USL: Barbir most recently suited up for German Verbandsliga side Sandhausen II while on loan from Romanian outfit Astra Giurgiu. He made 12 appearances for the club in the latter stages of the 2018-19 season, helping the side to a second-place finish in the Verbandsliga. He joined Astra Giurgiu in Romania in early 2018, but did not appear for the side.

2017: Barbir joined Vancouver Whitecaps 2 in late 2017, making three appearances prior to the end of the regular season, coming against Orange County SC (Sept. 17), Arizona United (Sept. 24) and Portland Timbers 2 (Sept. 30).

International: Barbir has represented the U.S. at the Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 levels, including two appearances at the 2015 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Chile.

Youth: Barbir spent the majority of his youth career in England, first with powerhouse Manchester City before joining West Bromwich Albion in 2014. He signed his first professional contract with West Brom in 2015 and made 16 appearances for the club’s Under-23 side, tallying one goal and one assist. In early 2017, Barbir went on trial with Stoke City’s U-23s and tallied one goal in three appearances. Barbir began his youth career in Pennsylvania with Lehigh Valley United and Players Development Academy before joining the Philadelphia Union Academy prior to his journey abroad.
