Career Summary

2016: Made 28 regular-season appearances, scoring seven goals and adding one assist. His seven goals placed second on the team, two behind Mark Anthony Gonzalez. Notched his first goal for the club on April 27 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 before adding his first assist at Rio Grande Valley FC on May 21. Tyrpak then scored in three consecutive road games against Whitecaps FC 2 on June 12, Seattle Sounders FC 2 on June 26 and Arizona United SC on July 9, bringing his goal total to four. Scored a USL Goal of the Month contender against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Sept. 10 before tallying twice against the same opponent on Sept. 21. Started all four games in the USL Cup Playoffs, and was tied for the team-lead with three goals, while he also added one assist. Scored the game-winner in the Western Conference Quarterfinal against LA Galaxy II on Sept. 30 before notching an assist in the Conference Semifinal vs. Orange County Blues FC on Oct. 9. Tallied twice – including the game-winner – in the 3-0 Western Conference Final victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Oct. 15. Made his debut for Sporting Kansas City as a halftime substitute against Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the CONCACAF Champions League on Sept. 13.

2015: Tyrpak was selected by the San Jose Earthquakes in the Dispersal Draft after Chivas USA ceased operations at the conclusion of the 2014 season, but was later waived during the Earthquakes’ preseason. He joined former club the Austin Aztex in the USL on March 11. He made his debut for the Aztex against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on March 29 and added his first two goals for the club with the only goals of the game in a 2-0 win over the Tulsa Roughnecks on April 5. He scored his third goal of the season with the game-winner against the Switchbacks on April 26 before adding his first assist for the club against OKC Energy FC on May 1. He scored in consecutive games against the Real Monarchs on May 9 and Arizona United SC on May 17 and tallied the game-winner against reigning champions Sacramento Republic FC on June 6. He recorded an assist and then a goal in a doubleheader with Arizona United SC on July 17 and 26. Tyrpak also played in all three of Austin’s U.S. Open Cup games as the side was knocked out in the Fourth Round by the Houston Dynamo.

With the Aztex failing to qualify for the USL Cup Playoffs, Tyrpak was loaned to the NASL’s San Antonio Scorpions at the end of Austin’s season. He made his debut against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Oct. 4, scoring a dipping volley that was named NASL Play of the Week. He also scored in the Scorpions’ next game against Indy Eleven on Oct. 11 before adding an assist in San Antonio’s final game against Minnesota United on Nov. 1.

2014: Selected by Chivas USA in the third round (40th overall) of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, Tyrpak went on to make nine appearances, scoring one goal with one assist for the now-defunct club. He made his MLS debut in Chivas USA’s second game of the season, coming on as a late substitute in a 1-1 draw with Vancouver Whitecaps FC on March 16. The following week, Tyrpak tallied his first assist, setting up Cubo Torres’ goal in a 3-1 loss to FC Dallas on March 22. In his seventh appearance for the club, Tyrpak came off the bench in the 64th minute against the Colorado Rapids on Oct. 11, and scored the game-tying goal a minute later as Chivas USA came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory. The goal was later nominated for MLS Goal of the Week.

College: Tyrpak attended Houston Baptist University, where he compiled 18 goals and 20 assists in a four-year collegiate career that included First Team All-Conference honors in both the Western Athletic Conference (2010) and Atlantic Soccer Conference (2013). While in college, Tyrpak also played with the Austin Aztex when the club was a member of the USL Premier Development League. He scored nine goals and added one assist in 14 appearances for the Aztex on his way to being named league MVP in 2013.
