Career Summary

Martin Steuble joined Sporting Kansas City on July 16, 2014 from Swiss club FC Wil 1900. The midfielder has previously spent his entire professional career in Switzerland, featuring for FC Wil 1900, Grasshopper Zurich, Lausanne Sport, FC Wohlen, and Neuchâtel Xamax. In 2013, Steuble committed to the Philippines Men's National Team and made his international debut in March 2014.

2014: MLS regular season: Played in three games with one start. Made his MLS and competitive club debut on Aug. 1 in a 1-1 draw against Philadelphia, entering the match in the 89th minute. Made his first career start on Aug. 29 against Houston. MLS Playoffs: Did not feature. CCL: Did not feature. Open Cup: Did not feature. Friendly: Played 15 minutes in a 4-1 Champions Shield defeat to Manchester City on July 23 at Sporting Park, his first appearance in a Sporting KC jersey.

PROFESSIONAL:

2013-14: Followed up a successful first season with FC Wil 1900 with 22 appearances in league play and a third place finish in the Swiss Challenge League.

2012-13: Joined FC Wil 1900, making 30 appearances in league play and helping the team finish fourth in the Swiss Challenge League.  

2011-12: Joined FC Wohlen where he set a career high for minutes played (2,039), matches played (29), and goals (four) in league play. 

2010-11: Joined Swiss side Lausanne-Sport where he tallied three goals in 16 league appearances. He made nine appearances in the UEFA Europa League and notched two goals.  

2009-10: Continued his career in Switzerland with club Grasshopper Zurich, scoring one goal in seven appearances.

2008-09: Began his professional career at Swiss club Neuchâtel Xamax, making five appearances and scoring one goal.

INTERNATIONAL (17 caps, 2 goals): Steuble made his debut for the Philippines Men's National Team on March 5, 2014 in a friendly against Azerbaijan. The midfielder scored his first goal for the Azkals on April 11 in a 3-0 friendly win over Nepal. He has earned 14 caps and scored two goals, competing in the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup in May and the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup in November and December. 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup: Started and played the full 90 minutes in a 4-1 group stage win over Laos on Nov. 22. Started and played the full 90 minutes in a 4-0 group stage win over Indonesia on Nov. 25, scoring the Azkals' third goal of the match. Started and played the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 group stage loss to Vietnam on Nov. 28. Started and played the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw against Thailand in the semifinal first leg on Dec. 6. Started and played 82 minutes in a 3-0 loss to Thailand in the semifinal second leg on Dec. 10.
