For the second straight year, Sporting Kansas City was voted Best Hometown Sports Team in the annual KC Magazine City's Best awards.
It's official - Kansas City is soccer crazy. Our readers voted Sporting KC as the city's Best Hometown Sports Team by a wide margin. Thanks to a new stadium, a rebranding and a hardworking staff and squad, Sporting KC fever has spread like wildfire throughout the community, leaving an appreciation for soccer and a trail of SKC’s signature powder blue and deep navy in its path.
The award winners were announced last Friday during a special event held at The Kansas City Downtown Library Rooftop, sponsored by Bud Select and Pierponts, and Sporting Kansas City received the most votes among the five finalists in the category (Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, Missouri Mavericks and Kansas City T-Bones).
