Sporting Kansas City (3-0-3, 9 points) defeated the Portland Timbers 1-0 on Saturday to remain unbeaten and vault to second place in the Western Conference. Manager Peter Vermes' men will now prepare for another road test against fellow unbeaten FC Dallas (3-0-2, 11 points) at Toyota Stadium, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. CT Saturday on FOX Sports Plus, Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish).

The Swope Park Rangers (3-0-0, 9 points) are the only perfect team in the USL after Saturday's 1-0 home win over Sacramento Republic FC. Next up is the Rangers' first road test of 2017 at Phoenix Rising FC, whose roster is headlined by former MLS All-Stars Didier Drogba and Omar Bravo. After competing at the prestigious Generation adidas Cup from April 7-15, the Sporting KC Academy continues its 2016-17 U.S. Soccer Development Academy campaign on Saturday with a doubleheader against the Colorado Rush at Swope Soccer Village. Swope Park Rangers defender and Sporting KC Academy product Jaylin Lindsey has been selected to the United States U-17 Men's National Team for the CONCACAF U-17 Championship, which will take place April 21-May 7 in Panama. The USA has been drawn into Group C along with Jamaica, Mexico and El Salvador, and will open against Jamaica on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. CT. All three of the USA's matches will be streamed live on the CONCACAF Facebook page.

Sporting KC and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City are teaming up in 2017 to recognize Blue KC Sporting Samaritans, honoring students and teachers who make the Kansas City community a better place to live, work and play. Once a month, a Samaritan will be recognized on the pitch at Children's Mercy Park before a Sporting KC home game. The Samaritan and up to three guests will receive a behind the scenes VIP experience, four tickets to the game, a parking pass and a $50 gift card redeemable for Sporting KC merchandise. The Victory Project will host its annual soccer clinic fundraiser on Tuesday, May 9 at Children’s Mercy Park. The clinic runs from 6-7:30 p.m. CT and is open to the first 100 kids aged 6-12 who register at VictoryKC.org. The clinic is $75 per child and all proceeds will go to The Victory Project, the philanthropic arm of Sporting Kansas City that unites players, staff and fans to help children battling cancer.
