There's plenty to be excited about Wednesday when Sporting Kansas City hosts reigning MLS Cup champion Seattle Sounders FC at Children's Mercy Park.
From the Charlie Brown retro training tops to Mo Johnston's induction into the Sporting Legends, Retro Night will turn back the clocks to deliver a comprehensive throwback experience from beginning to end.
That brings us to the Sporting KC Uphoria mobile app, which features a Retro Night theme of its own. But first things first: if you haven't downloaded the app already, do so for free on the App Store or Google Play and register an account. Now let's get into what Uphoria users can look forward to Wednesday night.
1. Free #SKCvSEA tickets up for grabs
A pair of tickets to Wednesday's match are up for grabs exclusively on Uphoria. The catch: you have to know your Sporting KC history against Seattle. The trivia question will go live Wednesday morning on Uphoria, and those who answer correctly will be entered for a chance to win two tickets to the game.
2. Retro Night photo filter on MySKC Cam
With MySKC Cam, you can make the special night even more commemorative by adding a Retro Night photo filter to all of your matchday pictures. The image above showcases the look of the newest overlay introduced to the app.
MySKC Cam is located within the Sporting KC tab, giving fans the opportunity to share photos on social networks and even appear on the Children’s Mercy Park videoboard. After taking a photo, click “Send to Sporting KC” and your image will enter a queue to appear in the stadium.
3. Free Ben & Jerry's ice cream at Price Chopper
Several hours before kickoff, Uphoria users will receive an offer card for a free, 16-oz. carton of Ben & Jerry's ice cream at Kansas City-area Price Chopper locations. Offer cards are a lot like Groupons and just as easy to use: simply visit your local Price Chopper, show the offer to the cashier at checkout and enjoy your free Ben & Jerry's. This particular offer won't expire until the end of Friday.
4. Experience Seat Upgrades
Want to make your trip to Children’s Mercy Park even more exclusive? Select “Tix City Seat Options” under the Sporting KC tab to choose from a variety of Experience upgrades, including:
- UMB Field Club postgame access
- Ameritas Shield Club access
- Photo on the Pitch after the match

5. SeatGeek mobile ticketing
Thanks to Sporting KC’s partnership with SeatGeek, fans can now use Uphoria as their way into Children’s Mercy Park. SeatGeek ticket managing can be found on the “Tickets” tab within the app. A few pointers:
- First, make sure your Sporting KC ticket account is linked to SeatGeek.
- Before entering the stadium, turn the brightness all the way up on your smartphone.

6. Live stats, breaking news and instant replay
Whether you're looking for advanced statistics on every player, breaking news about the club, or instant replays of the game's biggest moments, Uphoria has you covered. For fans inside Children's Mercy Park, make sure to connect to the CMPark wifi network to watch instant replays of prominent events throughout the match.
