Sporting KC Day at the Zoo returns on June 11

Sporting Kansas City and the Kansas City Zoo are teaming up to provide a soccer-themed experience on Sunday, June 11. Fans are encouraged to join Sporting KC players Benny Feilhaber, Ike Opara, Soni Mustivar and Kevin Ellis for the third annual Sporting KC Day at the Zoo. The Zoo is offering $1 off the price of admission to guests that wear Sporting KC apparel (more details on ticket pricing below).


The Sporting KC futsal court opens at 9 a.m. CT to kicks things off on Sunday with Swope Park Rangers coach Gavin McInerney hosting a 30-minute clinic from 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. CT.




Feilhaber and Opara will play soccer with the sea lions, while Mustivar and Ellis will paint with orangutans and all four players will be available for autographs. Fans in attendance will also be able to purchase Sporting KC merchandise at the Zoo on Sunday.

After a fun-filled day at the zoo, fans are encouraged to head down the road to the Swope Soccer Village to watch Sporting KC's USL side Swope Park Rangers take on Tulsa Roughnecks FC at 4 p.m. CT. All supporters who show their Zoo ticket stub at the Swope Soccer Village box office can purchase an East Stand ticket for just $10 (50% off original price).

Tickets for Sporting KC Day at the Zoo are available online at kansascityzoo.org or at the Kansas City Zoo gates. General admission adult tickets are $14.50 while discounted tickets are offered for children ages 3-11 ($11.50) and seniors 55+ ($13.50), as well as Jackson/Clay county residents. Admission is free for Friends of the Zoo members and all children two years old or younger.
