SPR forward Nansel Selbol receives USL Fans' Choice Goal of the Month honors

Swope Park Rangers forward Nansel Selbol has won the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Month for June with his game-winning goal against LA Galaxy II on June 30 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. Selbol finished first among 10 candidates with 23 percent of the online vote, tied with former SPR forward Kris Tyrpak, but edged the contest by a single vote.

The 20-year-old Sporting KC Academy product received a pass from Sporting KC loanee Tyler Pasher, took one touch to control and fired a well-placed effort into the bottom corner for what was the only goal of the game.

Selbol was a threat throughout the match, hitting the crossbar and forcing an excellent stop from Galaxy II goalkeeper Eric Lopez after opening the scoring. Selbol now has three goals and one assist in 12 appearances this season, already eclipsing his numbers from the entire 2016 campaign.

The Swope Park Rangers are back in action on Wednesday, July 12 with a road matchup against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at McLeod Athletic Park. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT with a live stream available on SportingKC.com.
