Toronto FC vs. Seattle Sounders FC

After 390 matches played and 1,142 goals scored, the 2017 MLS season will end the exact same way the 2016 campaign concluded: with Seattle Sounders FC visiting Toronto FC under the league's brightest lights.

MLS Cup 2017 is slated for 3 p.m. CT on Saturday at BMO Field, airing live on ESPN and UniMas. Almost a year ago to the day, Seattle edged Toronto on penalty kicks after a scoreless draw to lift their first MLS championship. Fast-forward 12 months, and Brian Schmetzer's men will aim for a repeat against a dominant Toronto side that is looking to become the first treble winner in MLS history.

Make no mistake: the Reds will be out for revenge, having fallen at this stage last year despite limiting Seattle to zero shots on target over the course of 120 minutes. Widely considered one of the league's greatest teams ever, Toronto has already hoisted the Canadian Championship and Supporters' Shield in 2017. No MLS team has ever won three major trophies in a single season.

After catching fire during the latter half of 2016 to capture their first MLS Cup, the Sounders have been even more impressive in 2017. Propelled by the influential Clint Dempsey and Nicolas Lodeiro, Seattle has yet to concede a goal in four playoff games this year and has just two losses in 22 league matches since mid-June.
