Tickets for the marquee matchup are on sale at SeatGeek.com, and there are more than a few reasons fans will want to be at Children’s Mercy Park on Sunday. Let’s jump into everything you need to know about the Sporting Sustainability match.

Royals Scarf Package
The Kansas City Royals and Sporting Kansas City have teamed up to offer co-branded apparel as part of special ticket packages for local fans to support their hometown teams on Saturday at Kauffman Stadium and Sunday at Children’s Mercy Park.

Recycle Your Game

In conjunction with Sporting Sustainability, Sporting is partnering with MLS to support league-wide green initiatives at the local level. This includes the annual Recycle Your Game program, inviting all supporters to bring new or gently used soccer equipment to drop off at the stadium gates during home matches on Sunday and April 27. All gear will go to underserved local youth, who will gather on May 23 for a soccer clinic at the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Fans who bring donations will receive a $5 SportingStyle gift card.

Parley and More

The New Parley Jersey
Sporting on Thursday unveiled its new Parley jersey, a kit created with Parley Ocean Plastic made from recycled waste from beaches and coastal communities before it reaches the ocean. The Parley jerseys will be on sale at all SportingStyle locations inside the stadium, and fans who purchase the kit will receive a reusable shopping bag made of recycled materials while supplies last. Supporters can also buy the new, limited-time Sporting Sustainability scarf of the match.

Sporting players will showcase the new look on the field, wearing the Parley jersey during warmups and the pre-game walkout. Next Saturday, April 20, Sporting will wear the Parley jerseys for their away match at the San Jose Earthquakes before donating the game-worn kits to The Victory Project for an online auction.

$2 Off Beer Growlers
Sporting’s hospitality team has backed the Sporting Sustainability cause by purchasing BioHiTech—a cost-effective technology solution for low-volume food waste generators—and sourcing biodegradable vessels for food and beverage concessions, such as the new beer growler. At select concessions in the stadium, fans can get their own beer growler for $2 off with the purchase of any Anheuser-Busch beer.

Postgame

Special Olympics Unified Exchange Game
After Sporting and New York leave the field, supporters are encouraged to stay in their seats for a Special Olympics Unified Soccer exchange game between Special Olympics Sporting Kansas City and Special Olympics New York Red Bulls. Sporting and New York are among the several clubs connecting with local Special Olympics chapters to host exchange games in their venues, giving athletes with intellectual disabilities a unique opportunity to shine under the stadium lights.

Biodegradable Cup Giveaway
Upon exiting Children’s Mercy Park after the game, fans will have the opportunity to receive a biodegradable cup with an educational Sporting Sustainability insert. The cup will biodegrade over a period of two to five years in a standard landfill environment.
