Sporting Kansas City announced today that three players will be sidelined through injury as the club prepares to play five of its next six matches at Children’s Mercy Park.

Midfielder Roger Espinoza has suffered a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) sprain in his left knee and will miss two to three months. Espinoza’s injury will not require surgery.

Defender Rodney Wallace will undergo a surgical procedure in his right hip and is expected to miss four to six months.

Lastly, defender Matt Besler will be out two to four weeks after suffering a hamstring strain in Saturday’s match at the San Jose Earthquakes.

Sporting returns home Saturday to host the New England Revolution at 7:30 p.m. CT. Tickets for the Kansas City Night matchup are available at SeatGeek.com as Manager Peter Vermes’ men look to improve upon a 29-3-14 regular season home record dating back to June 2016.
