Sporting KC Show Podcast: Hear from Tim Melia and Director of Player Care Betsy Baxfield

The Sporting KC Show Podcast, dropping throughout the season on Sports Radio 810 WHB, is now available on Spotify and iTunes. With Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine hosting the weekly program, Sporting fans now have a place to go to catch up on club storylines, player achievements, guest interviews and more.

A new episode of The Sporting KC Show Podcast debuted Tuesday night on Sports Radio 810 WHB with hosts Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine, who recapped a confidence-building victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC last weekend, looked ahead to this Saturday's home match with FC Dallas and heard from a pair of Sporting KC guests.

The podcast featured an appearance from goalkeeper Tim Melia—fresh off his record-breaking win in British Columbia—as well as Sporting KC Director of Player Care Betsy Maxfield, who has one of the most unique and specialized roles in Major League Soccer.

Episode Summary

  • 3:54 - Sporting dominated from wire to wire for the second straight game, using a sparking performance from father-to-be Gerso Fernandes en route to a 3-0 win at Vancouver.
  • 9:15 - Tim Melia joins the show to reflect on his recent milestone of becoming the winningest goalkeeper in Sporting history.

That includes assisting with housing arrangements, paperwork, meals, transportation and a variety of other obstacles that arise throughout the year.
  • 42:40 - Bukaty and Augustine wrap up the episode with a preview of Saturday's match between Sporting and FC Dallas at Children's Mercy Park.
