Sporting KC Show Podcast: Club legends put a bow on 2019 season

Matt Besler and Seth Sinovic handshake - Sporting KC - July 2017

Dropping throughout the season on Sports Radio 810 WHB, the Sporting KC Show Podcast is available on Spotify and iTunes. With Nate Bukaty, Aly Trost and Carter Augustine hosting the weekly program, Sporting fans have a place to go to catch up on club storylines, player achievements, guest interviews and more.

A special season finale of The Sporting KC Show Podcast dropped Tuesday night as hosts Nate Bukaty, Aly Trost and Carter Augustine heard from three fan favorites who have played iconic roles shaping a vibrant soccer culture in Kansas City.

During a festive celebration of the 20-year anniversary of Sports Radio 810 at Tanner's Bar & Grill in Overland Park, Kansas, legendary goalkeeper Tony Meola joined Kansas City natives and fellow MLS Cup champions Matt Besler and Seth Sinovic to put a bow on Sporting's decade of success and reflect on their favorite memories appearing on sports talk radio.

Meola harkens back to the late 1990s when he began his stint with the Wizards, starring on a banter-filled radio show with Steven St. John. Besler recalls the nerves of his first Sports Radio 810 WHB appearance just minutes after being taken by Kansas City in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. Sinovic discusses overcoming the odds as a college walk-on and his favorite moments as a Kansas basketball fan. All in all, it makes for a must-listen podcast for any Sporting fan.

Besler and Sinovic are set to venture south for Sporting Kansas City’s MLS regular season finale against FC Dallas on Sunday at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The Decision Day clash is set for 3 p.m. CT with live coverage on FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports GO, ESPN 94.5 FM (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish).

The Kansas City duo has been instrumental to Sporting's success since the turn of the decade, appearing in all four cup final victories (one MLS Cup to go with three Open Cup titles) and leading the side to eight straight playoff appearances from 2011-2018.
