Sporting Kansas City forward Gianluca Busio joined the chorus of players throughout MLS in calling for change and an end to systemic racism following the murder of George Floyd in a post on his Twitter account.
Busio, 18, signed a Homegrown contract with Sporting in 2017 that made him the youngest player to sign with an MLS club since Freddy Adu.
Read his statement below.
We are BLACK MEN ..We are tired..The world needs more peace and love. I am tired of all the hate and everyone in this world should be tired of it also. We must fight TOGETHER! Things have to change now and if you don’t think so you’re part of the problem. Racism must end. #BLM✊🏿 pic.twitter.com/VSkfvxn5Rq— Gianluca Busio (@gbusio13) June 4, 2020
