In partnership with Special Olympics Kansas and Missouri, The Victory Project, and Sporting KC, Sporting KC is proud to sponsor the Unified Team, comprising players with and without intellectual disabilities. This unique team is breaking barriers and showcasing the true spirit of inclusivity in sports.

Sporting KC’s Unified Team represents the club by signing an official contract and competing in matches throughout the season. This contract recognizes their talent and dedication and highlights Sporting KC's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity in soccer.

Sporting KC Defender Jansen Miller and Goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland have signed up to be Team Ambassadors to further support and promote the Unified Team throughout the season. These ambassadors play a crucial role in supporting the Unified Team and providing first-team experience and knowledge.

Sporting KC takes great pride in breaking barriers to the beautiful game and is proud to support these talented athletes, looking forward to their continued success on and off the field.

Special Olympics Unified Team Tryouts

The Victory Project, Sporting Kansas City, and Special Olympics have teamed up to unite people with and without intellectual disabilities through Sporting Kansas City’s Unified Team. This program provides opportunities for MLS Unified teams to participate in a unique and exciting MLS-inclusive experience. Sporting Kansas City Unified players must be between the ages of 16 -25 at the time of either tryout to be eligible to compete in the 2026 season.

Tryouts:

Sunday April, 26th 2026

2pm-4pm at UKMC Soccer Fields - 5100 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO 64110

Players must be between the ages of 16 and 25 for at least one of the tryout dates to be eligible to play in the 2026 season.
