Greg Maday receives Ingram's honor -

GREG MADAY has been a successful serial entrepreneur for the last two decades. He is currently Chairman, Chief Executive and Owner/Partner of SpecChem LLC, a company that manufactures construction chemicals for the concrete industry. He is also co-founder and principal in DBB, LLC, a manufacturer of steel related products for the concrete paving industry. He has been a leader in the concrete industry since 1990, as an owner of Conspec Marketing and Manufacturing Co., Inc., Burke by Edoco, and Conspec Performance Products.

The St. Joseph, Mo. native is also a founding partner in Rock Island Capital, a private equity firm with offices in Chicago and Kansas City as well as GEM Holdings, LLC. an asset management and investment company.

Mr. Maday has a deep passion for sports and relishes his ownership in Sporting Kansas City. His keen interest in soccer developed after his children began playing the sport. He became a fan of the then Kansas City Wizards owned by Lamar Hunt.

Mr. Maday received a BS in Business Administration-Finance from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He has completed several postgraduate programs including Harvard Business School Executive Business Program through YPO; Mentor, Helzberg Mentoring Programs; and Professor for a Day, Trulaske College of Business, University of Missouri, where he is also a member of the Strategic Development Board at the College. Maday was in the Ingram’s Forty Under Forty, Class of 2002.

Mr. Maday, and his wife, Elizabeth, are involved in numerous philanthropic efforts. He has embraced the opportunity to encourage other potential entrepreneurs by offering his time to various entrepreneurial mentoring programs.

Mr. Maday is active in the Village Presbyterian Church in the roles of Deacon, Elder, Trustee, Mission Chair, member of the Pastoral Nominating Committee and Vision Committee Chair.

The American Royal, AR, a 113 year old Kansas City tradition, has become a tradition in Mr. Maday’s life as well. Not to mention his annual company’s barbeque tent at the AR Barbeque, Maday has served nearly two decades in various positions. currently as Chairman of the Board of Governors.

Mr. Maday is married to Elizabeth of Kansas City. Elizabeth and Greg have two children, Alexandra and Maxwell. The family enjoys playing golf and soccer, attending Sporting games, traveling and walking the family dogs, Millie and Winston.
