BS The Podcast dropped its penultimate episode of 2019 on Wednesday as Benny Feilhaber and Sal Zizzo welcomed Sporting Kansas City forward Johnny Russell, one of Major League Soccer's premier attacking players over the last two seasons.

Russell, 29, spent the first 12 years of his professional career in his native Scotland and England, starring for the likes of Dundee United and Derby County. The winger then took his talents across the Atlantic, joining Sporting ahead of the 2018 MLS campaign, and immediately became an integral contributor for Manager Peter Vermes' side. Indeed, Russell has become the second player in Kansas City history to record at least nine goals and nine assists in back-to-back regular seasons, winning team Offensive Player of the Year honors in both campaigns.

Fresh off representing the Scotland Men's National Team in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying, Russell joins the gang for a banter-filled discussion about his move from Derby to Sporting, how he pronounces certain English words in his thick Scottish brogue, who he thinks is poised for a strong bounce-back year in 2020, and his most memorable moments in Kansas City thus far.
