Sporting Kansas City will host rivals St. Louis CITY SC at 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday at Sporting Park in the club's most anticipated home match of the year.

Tickets for the SKCvSTL showdown are available without fees from match title night partner SeatGeek and Blue Hell Week gameday specials will include 12-ounce Busch Light cans for only $5 on the Sporting Plaza prior to kickoff. In addition, the new BBQ & Soccer Capital of America tee will be available at Sporting Style retail stores and can also be ordered online for pickup at Sporting Park on Wednesday.

Supporters' Stand ticket holders and Season Ticket Members are invited to enjoy a Michelob Ultra on the club prior to kickoff in the Budweiser Brew House, where fans can also take advantage of $3 Blue Hell Lemonades throughout the match and where CORE will be giving away Soccer Capital of America cooling towels.

Separated by 250 miles in America's heartland, SKC and CITY SC continue to build on a history of soccer competition between teams from Kansas City and St. Louis that spans more than 100 years -- including seven straight decades of match-ups at the professional level dating back to the North American Soccer League in the 1960's.

Sporting Kansas City and St. Louis CITY SC will meet for a 12th time on Wednesday with the all-time series deadlocked with three draws and four wins apiece. Sporting swept top-seeded St. Louis in the 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs to end the newcomers' historic expansion season and SKC is unbeaten (3-0-2) in the five all-time encounters at Sporting Park.

Most recently, St. Louis recorded a 3-2 win against Sporting last month in controversial fashion as the game-winning goal came in the 86th minute on a penalty kick following a video review which the Professional Referee Organization later confirmed should not have been recommended by the VAR.

Capita Capemba, who has recorded the fastest top speed (23 miles per hour) in Major League Soccer this season, and club captain Dejan Joveljic, who has five goals in his last five games against St. Louis CITY SC, each scored in the previous matchup however Sporting will enter the rematch amidst a 306-minute scoreless streak after being shutout in three straight games.

Conversely, the visitors arrive in Kansas City riding the momentum of the longest unbeaten run in club history -- 10 games across all competitions (7-0-3) -- that has vaulted the club from 29th place at the beginning of May to now 10th in the league table and preparing for a U.S. Open Cup semifinal next month.

Led by head coach Yoann Damet, St. Louis has signed five players in the secondary transfer window including midfielder Alexandru Matan - who won MLS Cup (2023) and Leagues Cup (2024) in Columbus while Damet served as an assistant coach -- and Designated Player Carlo Holse, who debuted in the club's 3-1 win at San Jose on Saturday. Meanwhile, three of CITY SC's highest paid players have departed mid-season with the exits of Designated Player Marcel Hartel (transfer), Designated Player Sergio Cordova (end of loan) and TAM Player Cedric Teuchert (end of contract).

Defensively, St. Louis is anchored by 35-year-old goalkeeper and club captain Roman Burki who has collected MLS All-Star, MLS Best XI and MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honors as the league's top-paid player in his position over the past four seasons. Offensively, playmaker Eduard Lowen has also starred for St. Louis since their inaugural campaign -- including seven goal contributions (three goals, four assists) in six regular season appearances against Kansas City -- while Topeka, Kan., native Simon Becher leads the team with an MLS career-high nine goal contributions this year (four goals, five assists).

St. Louis will be without three players -- Kyle Hiebert (hip), Brendan McSorley (ankle) and Celio Pompeu (knee) -- on Wednesday due to injury while Sporting KC centerback Moises Mosquera and midfielder Kwaku Agyabeng will serve one-game suspensions following their red cards in the team's 2-0 loss in Colorado on Saturday. In addition, new SKC Designated Player Andre Luiz is awaiting his visa and centerback Or Blorian is questionable after exiting Saturday's match with a back injury.

The clash between Sporting Blue and CITY Red will be nationally televised on FS1 (Josh Eastern and Lloyd Sam) and FOX Deportes while SKCvSTL will also available to watch in English (Michael Watts and Phil Neville) and Spanish (Nacho Garcia) on Apple TV.
