Radio Rewind: Daniel Salloi talks goal scoring and World Cup on The Sporting KC Show

On the heels of a two-goal performance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16, Sporting Kansas City forward Daniel Salloi joined The Sporting KC Show on Wednesday night with hosts Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine.

The 21-year-old homegrown product struck twice in Saturday's thrilling 3-2 victory over FC Dallas to move his 2018 total to six goals in all competitions, already equalling his entire haul from 2017. Salloi's appearance on Sports Radio 810 WHB was full of compelling talking points, including Yohan Croizet's world-class volley to win the game, the recent emergence of Sporting KC's teenage talents, the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and spending way too much time playing Fortnite with his teammates.

In addition to welcoming Salloi on Tuesday, 810 WHB spoke at length with local soccer analyst Andy Edwards on Saturday about the United Bid's successful effort in bringing the 2026 FIFA World Cup to North America and Kansas City's potential role as a host city. The United Bid has identified 23 potential cities as hosts for the 2026 event, 16 of which will be selected in 2020.
