Sporting KC Show Podcast: Get the inside stories on Nico Hasler and Jimmy Medranda

The Sporting KC Show Podcast, dropping throughout the season on Sports Radio 810 WHB, is now available on Spotify and iTunes. With Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine hosting the weekly program, Sporting fans now have a place to go to catch up on club storylines, player achievements, guest interviews and more.

The newest episode of the Sporting KC Show Podcast gives fans the chance to familiarize themselves with defenders Nico Hasler and Jimmy Medranda like never before.

In a pair of heartwarming and candid interviews, Hasler and Medranda reflected on their professional careers and shared illuminating insight on their family backgrounds.

The podcast, which debuted Tuesday night on Sports Radio 810 WHB, also served as a recap of Sporting's 3-2 victory over Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday as well as a preview of tonight's gargantuan battle with the LA Galaxy.

Hasler, who joined Sporting in April, is one of the most accomplished soccer players from Liechtenstein. The versatile defender also comes from a heralded soccer lineage—his late father Rainer Hasler was one of the country's greatest players of all time—and his international pedigree is undeniable. Hasler has amassed 59 caps, featured in multiple editions of World Cup and Euro qualifying, won five Liechtensteiner Cups with FC Vaduz, and helped Toronto FC to an unprecedented treble in 2017.

Medranda, whose infectious personality mirrors that of Hasler's, joined Sporting in 2013 at age 19. He flourished as a fan favorite from 2016-2017, producing moments of spellbinding skill while developing into a regular starter under Manager Peter Vermes. The Colombian suffered a major setback in May 2018, however, when he suffered a knee injury that sidelined him for over 12 months. Medranda made his highly anticipated return on Sunday, entering as a second-half substitute and igniting a roar of applause from the Children's Mercy Park faithful.

In addition to reflecting on his injury comeback, Medranda shared details of his family background in Colombia while demonstrating his vastly improved English in a colorful conversation with Bukaty and Augustine.
