Sporting KC to debut new TV spot during Super Bowl 50

Sporting Kansas City will conclude the first phase of its 2016 preseason, presented by Children’s Mercy, with a scrimmage against South Korean club Seongnam FC at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday at Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona. Manager Peter Vermes’ side defeated FC Tucson 4-0 on Saturday in the team’s first preseason match with goals from Brad Davis, Dom Dwyer and Connor Hallisey (2). Leading up to Sunday’s scrimmage, Sporting KC will train Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.


Single-game tickets for Sporting Kansas City’s first nine home matches of the 2016 MLS regular season will go on sale to the general public beginning today at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster.com. Individuals who place deposits for season tickets or group tickets for the 2016 season will receive priority consideration for obtaining single-game tickets to Sporting KC home matches. Swope Park Rangers season tickets, group packages and flex vouchers will go on sale to the general public today at 8 a.m. CT. The Rangers enter the United Soccer League in 2016 for the club’s inaugural season and will play 13 of 15 home matches at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village (Kansas City, MO). On Wednesday, Venue Passes for the 2016 Copa America Centenario will go on sale to the general public at noon local venue time for each of the 10 host venues across the United States. A Venue Pass is a ticket to all matches in a specific venue, excluding the championship match at MetLife Stadium. Held from June 3-26, Copa America Centenario will feature 16 competing nations — 10 from CONMEBOL (the South American football confederation) and six from CONCACAF (North and Central America and the Caribbean), including the U.S. and Mexico. Sporting Kansas City defenders Matt Besler and Marcel de Jong will square off in an international friendly at 9:15 p.m. CT on Friday as the United States meets Canada at StubHub Center in Carson, California (FS1, UniMas, Univision Deportes). Besler (United States) and de Jong (Canada) are with their respective national teams in preparation for two 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March and will join Sporting Kansas City for the second phase of preseason training in Tucson, Arizona, from Feb. 14-27.


Sporting Kansas City will introduce its 2016 marketing campaign in a new television commercial that will debut Sunday on KCTV5 during Super Bowl 50. The 30-second spot will include a sneak peak of the club’s new secondary jersey for the 2016 season.
