Sporting Sounds: Matt Besler recalls Gold Cup glory, previews #RSLvSKC

Matt Besler fist pump celebration - Sporting KC vs. Toluca - Feb. 21, 2019

Sporting Kansas City captain Matt Besler made his customary appearance on Sports Radio 810 WHB this morning, joining Border Patrol host Nate Bukaty to discuss a variety of topics as a soccer-filled week in Kansas City unfolds.

At the forefront, Children's Mercy Park will host a 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup doubleheader tonight, headlined by the battle between the United States Men's National Team and Panama. Besler shared his thoughts on the current state of the national team, saving particular praise for Christian Pulisic, and reflected on the first of his two Gold Cup titles as a U.S. MNT player in 2013.

The center back then looked ahead to Sporting's road test at Real Salt Lake on Saturday, where he will go head-to-head with his younger brother Nick Besler. The Western Conference clash at Rio Tinto Stadium will kick off at 9 p.m. CT with live coverage on FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX Sports Midwest Plus, FOX Sports Go, Sports Radio 810 WHB and ESPN Deportes 1480 AM.

Tickets for tonight's Concacaf Gold Cup doubleheader remain available at SeatGeek.com and include entry to the 5:30 p.m. CT matchup between Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago as well as the U.S. MNT versus Panama at 8 p.m. CT.
