Swope Park Rangers add Ever Alvarado and Kevin Ellis on loan from Sporting KC

The Swope Park Rangers have added defenders Ever Alvarado and Kevin Ellis on loan from Sporting Kansas City, the club announced today. Both players will be available for tonight’s matchup with OKC Energy FC at Swope Soccer Village, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. CT and tickets available here.

Alvarado joined Sporting KC on June 24 from C.D. Olimpia, having claimed his third career Liga Nacional title in May. The 24-year-old made 73 appearances in all competitions for Olimpia over the last three seasons, scoring six goals. Alvarado has also earned six caps with the Honduras National Team, scoring his first international goal against Nicaragua on Jan. 28, 2016.

Ellis, 25, became the second Homegrown Player in Sporting KC history when he signed in February 2011. He has since gone on to make 54 MLS appearances, including five this season, while his four goals in 2015 led all defenders in the league. Ellis enjoyed a breakout year in 2014, making 27 appearances in all competitions and scoring his first career goal in a CONCACAF Champions League victory over Cruz Azul.

The Kansas City, Missouri native has made 10 USL appearances, making five appearances while on loan to Orlando City SC in 2013 and another five on loan to OKC Energy FC in 2014.

The Swope Park Rangers will host Faith and Family Night today when the side takes on Jimmy Nielsen and OKC Energy FC at 7:30 p.m. Gameday features include $1 hot dogs and a poster giveaway; find a full list here. A live stream will be available on while tickets start at $12 and can be purchased here or at the box office.
