Matt Besler is the Sporting Kansas City captain, a U.S. Men's National Team veteran, an MLS Cup champion and a three-time U.S. Open Cup winner. Few American defenders have experienced as much on-field success over the last decade than the native Kansan, who has also garnered a slew of individual honors throughout his playing career.
But Besler is also a husband, a father and a loyal family man. And the experiences and lessons that come with that are oftentimes more valuable than the ones that come from the soccer pitch.
