Three matches to air nationally in Week 9 of 2018 MLS campaign

The final weekend of April features a compelling slate of MLS action, highlighted by three matches that will air nationally.

We provide a quick rundown of those games below, but don't forget to set aside your Saturday night for Sporting Kansas City's visit to Gillette Stadium for a cross-conference clash against the New England Revolution. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Kansas City Plus, FOX Sports Midwest Plus, FOX Sports GO, Sports Radio 810 WHB and ESPN Deportes KC 1480 AM. All supporters are invited to attend the official #NEvSKC watch party at No Other Pub, featuring $4 Bud Light drafts and an endless buffet with bottomless soda and domestic draft beers.

Philadelphia Union vs. D.C. United | 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Twitter & Univision Deportes

Two teams with identical 1-3-2 records (5 points) will aim to get their seasons back on track when the Union host D.C. United on Saturday afternoon. Alarm bells aren't ringing in Philadelphia just yet, but Jim Curtin's men are winless in five and haven't shown many indications that a long-awaited return to the postseason awaits. United, meanwhile, finally entered the victory column in their most recent fixture against Columbus Crew SC.

Colorado Rapids vs. Orlando City SC | 3 p.m. CT Sunday, ESPN

After an ominous 0-2-1 start to the season, Orlando City SC (4-2-1, 13 points) has roared to the tune of four straight wins and bagged 12 goals in the process. Forward Dom Dwyer is a man in form with five goals during the streak, but 2018 SuperDraft selection Chris Mueller has stolen the headlines with three goals and an assist over the last three outings. Colorado (2-2-2, 8 points) is coming off a 3-0 setback at rivals Real Salt Lake last weekend, but the Rapids are 2-0-1 in the friendly confines of Dick's Sporting Goods Park this year.

Los Angeles Football Club vs. Seattle Sounders FC | 8 p.m. CT Sunday, FS1

At long last, Los Angeles Football Club (4-2-0, 12 points) will open its dazzling new home against the two-time defending Western Conference champions. Banc of California Stadium will be christened Sunday night as slow-starting Seattle (1-3-1, 4 points) visits an LAFC side that has won four of its first six matches, all away from home, by playing an irresistible brand of soccer under head coach Bob Bradley. The expansion club has amassed 16 goals on their travels, thanks in large part to the talismanic contributions of Carlos Vela (five goals, three assists) and Diego Rossi (four goals, four assists).
