Sporting KC forwards Alan Pulido and Johnny Russell join list of 25 best-selling MLS jerseys in 2020

Sporting Kansas City forwards Alan Pulido and Johnny Russell find themselves on the list of the 25 best-selling adidas jerseys in Major League Soccer for the 2020 regular season.

Pulido sits at No. 14 on the list following an excellent debut campaign in MLS, while Russell ranks 18th after a third straight standout season in Kansas City. Pulido and Russell tied Gadi Kinda with a team-best six goals this year as Sporting Kansas City finished atop the Western Conference standings and earned a No. 1 seed going into the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs.

LAFC star Carlos Vela was No. 1 on the list of best-selling MLS jerseys, followed by LA Galaxy’s Javier Hernandez, Atlanta United FC’s Josef Martinez, Seattle Sounders FC’s Raul Ruidiaz and Inter Miami CF’s Rodolfo Pizarro to round out the top five.

The rankings are based on overall retail sales of adidas MLS jerseys on MLSstore.com since the beginning of 2020 and through the end of the league’s milestone 25th regular season. For more information on the best-selling MLS jerseys, visit MLSstore.com.

Joining Sporting on a club-record transfer fee from Chivas de Guadalajara last December, Pulido tallied six goals and five assists in 12 regular season appearances, becoming the first Kansas City player to top both categories since Josh Wolff in 2005. Russell bagged six goals of his own while adding four assists, joining Pulido and fellow teammates such as Kinda, Khiry Shelton and Erik Hurtado to form one of the deepest and most balanced attacks in MLS.

Sporting will begin their pursuit of the 2020 MLS Cup next Sunday, Nov. 22, hosting the San Jose Earthquakes in a Round One showdown at Children's Mercy Park. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT with a limited number of tickets available at SeatGeek.com and live coverage on FS1, FOX Deportes and the FOX Sports app.
