Crystle Lampitt checked-in with Brazilian midfielder Paulo Nagamura in this week's Sporting Spotlight on 38 the Spot. The 10th-year professional turned in a veteran performance, leading Sporting KC to a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps nine days ago. Nagamura scored two goals in the final eight minutes of play, including a stoppage time game-winner, to complete the historic result. Prior to August 15, Sporting KC had never won when trailing by two goals in the 80th minute of a regular season match and this feat has only been acomplished one other time in MLS regular season history (7/27/03 DC at NE).
Nagamura earned MLS Player of the Week honors for his performance, but today took time to chat about some non-soccer related topics including his favorite Brazilian restaurants in Kansas City, the smooth transition to the United States of America and his very adorable full house.
