Lopez features for U-20s vs Haiti

Mikey Lopez payed 26 minutes on Monday night in the United State's 2-1 victory over Haiti in the CONCACAF U-20 tournament. The midfielder had a solid performance as a second half substitute and helped the USA hold on for the three points. Below are reviews of Mikey's performance.

USA U-20 Manager Tab Ramos

“Right after they (Haiti) scored the goal, there was about a 10-minute period where we really struggled to get the ball out the back. I think when we made a couple of substitutions [Mikey Lopez for Jose Villarreal and Jerome Kiesewetter for Gil] the game changed a little bit.”

Matt Doyle, MLSSoccer.com
"A switch from the 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2, and some neat defensive midfield play from Sporting KC rookie Mikey Lopez stemmed the tide somewhat down the stretch."
Jeff Carlisle, ESPNFC.com

"the introduction of Mikey Lopez in the 64th minute saw the U.S. play with two dedicated holding midfielders in a 4-2-3-1, with the result that the U.S. looked much more secure defensively"
