Fan voting is now open for the 2024 Sporting Legends inductee! Supporters have the opportunity to submit their write-in selection for this year’s inductee now until March 2.

The 2024 inductee will be recognized as the newest Sporting Legend before a Sporting Kansas City home match at Children's Mercy Park later this year.

Sporting Legends is an initiative launched in 2013 that pays tribute to the individuals who have played an instrumental role within the Sporting Kansas City organization and in the growth of soccer throughout the Midwest. The hall of honor allows former stars of the club to reengage with our ever-growing, passionate fan base, while continuing to assist our effort to grow the game in a meaningful and tangible way on a regional and national level.

Sporting Kansas City manager Peter Vermes, former Kansas City defender Jimmy Conrad and the late Lamar Hunt were inducted into the 2014 Sporting Legends class during an on-field ceremony at Children's Mercy Park. Clark Hunt, Chairman and CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs, joined Vermes and Conrad to receive halftime recognition on his father's behalf. The trio joined Preki, Tony Meola and Bob Gansler, who became members of the inaugural Sportings Legends class in August 2013.

Sporting Legends began inducting one player annually in 2015, when Chris Klein was added to the ranks. He was followed by current assistant coach Kerry Zavagnin in 2016 and longtime forwards Mo Johnston and Josh Wolff in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
